Cleansing Oil

Oil cleansing works on a simple idea: oil dissolves oil. Makeup, sunscreen and everything your skin has collected through the day lift away gently, without stripping away the moisture your skin needs to stay comfortable.

The base is jojoba, avocado and olive, with castor for a deeper cleanse, and rosehip and grapeseed to leave your skin feeling nourished once you've rinsed. The citrus and ylang ylang blend makes those few minutes at the end of the day feel like a proper pause.

It also works beautifully as a light leave-on facial oil after toning, whenever your skin wants a little extra.

To cleanse: Massage a small amount onto dry skin for a minute or two, working gently over any makeup. Then soak a flannel or one of our bamboo face pads in warm water, wring it out, and wipe the oil away. Follow with the Facial Toner.

As a facial oil: After toning, press a few drops into slightly damp skin.

Avoid the eye area.

Jojoba makes up the largest part of the blend and is very similar to the oils your skin makes naturally, so it cleanses without leaving skin feeling stripped. Avocado and olive add richness and help dissolve makeup, while castor gives a deeper cleanse. Rosehip and grapeseed are lighter oils that leave skin feeling nourished, and vitamin E helps keep the oils fresh. Sweet orange, grapefruit and ylang ylang give it its bright, uplifting scent.

Suits most skin types, including combination skin, as jojoba is very similar to the skin's own natural oils. If your skin is particularly sensitive to essential oils, we'd always recommend a patch test first.

The bottle

This comes in an amber glass bottle, which helps protect what's inside from light. Once it's empty, the glass can be recycled at home in most areas. Check your local council's guidance for the top.

Made in small batches

We make everything in small batches and use organic ingredients wherever an organic version is available to buy. Anything left over at the end of a batch is potted into little testers, which sometimes find their way into orders as a free sample.

How your order arrives

Online orders are packed in a cardboard box, stamped by hand with our own ink stamp, with shredded card to keep everything safe (we chose it over cheaper plastic fillers) and a layer of tissue paper.
