Full Description

Barrier Repair is the balm we reach for when skin needs comfort without anything extra. It's rich but gentle, made with shea and mango butters, jojoba, avocado, olive and hemp seed oils and calendula, with just a touch of chamomile essential oil.

It forms a soft, protective layer that seals in moisture and helps support your skin's natural barrier, so dry, delicate skin feels comfortable again, on your face or anywhere on your body.

Works beautifully alongside our Hydrate & Calm Balm. Hydrate & Calm focuses on soothing and nourishing, while Barrier Repair adds a protective layer, so the two together are lovely for skin that feels particularly dry.

How to Use

Warm a small amount between your fingertips until it softens, then gently massage into your skin.

Use on your face or body, morning, evening or whenever your skin needs extra care. A little goes a long way, especially on the face.

Ingredients & Benefits

Shea and mango butters give the balm its rich, protective texture, and beeswax helps seal in moisture. Jojoba, avocado, olive and hemp seed oils nourish and soften, and calendula is there for its gentle, comforting qualities. The only essential oil is chamomile, used at a very low level, and vitamin E helps keep the oils fresh.

We always use organic ingredients wherever an organic version is available to buy.

Skin Type Suitability

Made for sensitive, delicate and very dry skin, and gentle enough for daily use on the face. The chamomile essential oil is used at such a low level that there are no fragrance allergens to declare, so it's a good choice if stronger scents tend to irritate your skin.

Calendula and chamomile both belong to the daisy family, so if you have a known allergy to that plant family, we'd recommend a patch test first.

Sustainability

The jar

This balm comes in an amber glass jar with an aluminium lid. Amber glass helps protect the natural butters and oils from light, and glass and aluminium can both be recycled at home in most areas.

If you use a lot, the 240ml jar means less packaging than buying two smaller ones.

Made in small batches

We make everything in small batches and use organic ingredients wherever an organic version is available to buy. Anything left over at the end of a batch is potted into little testers, which sometimes find their way into orders as a free sample.

When it's empty

Give the jar a rinse and recycle the glass, lid and box, checking your local council's guidance first, or keep the jar to reuse.

How your order arrives

Online orders are packed in a cardboard box, stamped by hand with our own ink stamp, with shredded card to keep everything safe (we chose it over cheaper plastic fillers) and a layer of tissue paper.

My skin has changed so much already in just four weeks!

I started using the Bloom Skin Care range at the beginning of August, and I honestly can’t believe the difference already. Gentle and very effective balm

Brilliant handmade product

Brilliant handmade product. That nourishes and hydrates skin. Absolutely love this product and will be purchasing this again. My son suffers from eczema and the balm works really well to hydrate his skin.

Amazing product

After trying many different brands, I started using bloom skin repair balm on my son as his eczema was red raw and very itchy, I applied twice a day and with a few days I noticed his skin improving, within 2 weeks his eczema was cleared. I continue to use twice a day along with the baby and toddler balm. I highly recommend this product.

Amazing!

This balm has worked wonders for my daughter's skin, she has suffered with eczema for years and we have tried so many different creams and steroids but never found the right one. We have only been using it for 3 days and it's been absolutely amazing for her skin and I can't believe the difference in such a short time, it's worked better than the steroid cream usually would and completely natural!
