Root & Ritual Scalp Cleansing Bar

Root & Ritual is a cold process cleansing bar made to cleanse your scalp thoroughly without stripping it. Nourishing oils and butters are blended with aloe vera, local Cotswold honey from a small independent beekeeper, marshmallow root and nettle, and it gives a rich, creamy lather.

It's especially lovely on thick and curly hair, leaving it soft, smooth and easy to manage. On looser or finer hair it still cleans the roots beautifully, but the lengths can feel a little heavier, so we'd suggest following with a diluted apple cider vinegar rinse.

The scent is a grounding herbal blend of cedarwood, lavender, chamomile, rosemary and tea tree.

Wet your hair and the bar, then glide the bar over your scalp a few times, or work up a lather between your hands first. Massage into your scalp, let the lather run through your lengths, and rinse well.

If your lengths feel heavy afterwards, follow with a diluted apple cider vinegar rinse.

Keep it on a draining soap dish so it dries fully between uses. It'll last much longer that way.

The base is olive, coconut, shea, cocoa butter, castor and jojoba, turned into soap using the traditional cold process method. That's why they appear as sodium olivate, sodium cocoate and so on in the list below. Aloe vera, local honey, marshmallow root and nettle are added for a gentle, nourishing cleanse.

Suits most scalps, including dry and sensitive. It's at its best on thick and curly hair. On finer or looser hair the lengths may feel heavier, so an apple cider vinegar rinse afterwards is worth trying.
